Israel – Main sights

A country that has a history has a spans over more than five thousand years, Israel is one of the most historic destinations in the world. 1. Jerusalem (Old City)

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and is of religious significance to three major religions, Christianity, Judaism as well as Islam. The ancient city has imposing stone walls. The Dome of the Rock, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Western Wall and other holy sites are visited by tourists from all over the world.

2. Tel Aviv-Yafo

Tel Aviv is the center for culture and commerce for Israel. The city was established in 1909, which makes it extremely young in comparison with the ancient cities in this part of the world. In context with the modern city of Tel Aviv is the Old city Jaffa or Yafo, which has its origins from biblical times.

3. Masada

Masada is a desert fortress where the ancient Jewish sect called the Zealots resisted the Romans tragically for one last time in the 73 AD. There are a number of sights here. The 1, 300 ft peak can be reached hiking up the Snake Path, or by cable car.
